Ingredients
  

  • 1 bag Doritos cheddar or your favorite flavor
  • 8 oz Cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup cooked bacon crumbled
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 egg beaten
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • Oil for frying vegetable or canola oil works well

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Doritos Crust
  • Begin by crushing the Doritos into fine crumbs. You can do this by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing them with a rolling pin, or using a food processor for a finer texture.
  • Mix the Filling
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix everything together until it’s well incorporated.
  • Shape the Bites
  • Scoop a small amount of the cream cheese mixture and shape it into a ball or small oval. You want the bites to be small enough to pop into your mouth but large enough to hold the filling.
  • Coat the Bites
  • Roll each bite in flour to help the egg mixture stick. Then dip them in the beaten egg and roll in the crushed Doritos crumbs. Ensure each bite is evenly coated.
  • Chill
  • Place the coated bites on a tray and refrigerate for 30 minutes. This helps the filling firm up and prevents leakage while frying.
  • Fry the Bites
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the Doritos bites, cooking them in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Drain and Serve
  • Remove the bites from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Serve immediately while they’re hot and crispy.
